Cables and Stuff Announces a Change to its Carrier Service Provider.

Cables and Stuff is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with FedEx. With effect from the 1st October 2008, FedEx will be providing and supporting C&S's next day parcel delivery service throughout the UK. In addition to the standard service offering of Next Day, Pre 10 and Pre 12, FedEx are also able to offer a Pre 9.00am service.

FedEx provides customers and businesses worldwide with a broad portfolio of transportation, e-commerce and business services and this new arrangement with them will allow us to increase the accuracy of our deliveries to 99%. It will also enable our Customer Services team to have access to more detailed information on order tracking, allowing us to keep you better informed about your deliveries.

We hope you will quickly begin to enjoy the benefits of this change to our carrier service. FedEx has more than 70,000 vehicles on the road worldwide, so we feel we have placed our customers' delivery requirements in very capable hands. At C&S, we take our environmental responsibility very seriously and along with the service enhancements you will enjoy with this new arrangement, we are satisfied that we have chosen a carrier service that is actively integrating business practices that reduce emissions and use and support the development of alternate fuel vehicles.

What changes will you see?

You should see no change to the service, other than a higher guaranteed delivery services. However, you will also be able to take advantage of either a text alert or e-mail alert service informing you of the status of your order. This will be in the form of two alerts: the first one confirming that your order is in transit and the second one confirming that the order has been signed for at your delivery point. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please inform the Internal Sales Team on 0800 35 88199, when you place your next order. Remember to state whether you want text or e-mail alerts. The team will make a note of this on the system and inform FedEx of this arrangement on your behalf.

I am also aware that many of you will have built up a certain familiarity over the years with our previous carrier service provider, DPD. Therefore, if you currently have a special arrangement in place, for example, your delivered goods are handed to an alternative address, please ensure that you again make our Internal Sales Team aware of this arrangement when you place your next order. We will try to accommodate your needs wherever possible.
