What is CAT6?
CAT6 is a cabling standard with 10GBase-T in mind. CAT6 is a standard for Gigabit Ethernet and many other network protocols. CAT6 is backward compatible with CAT5/5e for 10Base-T, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T and it is expected to suit the 10GBASE-T standard. Currently defined in TIA/EIA-568-B. It provides performance of up to 250 MHz, more than double category 5 and 5e.
